April 20, 2005Voluntary organisations, such as community-based groups wanting to enhance their region as a tourism destination, can apply for grants to deliver services and /or projects that contribute to:
(1) protection, conservation and/or rehabilitation of the natural environment
(2) protection and/or conservation of Australia’s historic heritage.
Groups must be currently engaged in:
(1) on-the-ground environment protection, conservation and/or rehabilation
projects in Australia
(2) activities leading to and supporting the protection and/or
conservation of Australia’s historic heritage

A signed original application must be received at the Department of the Environment & Heritage in Canberra by 129m Friday May 6, 2005.
