Australia’s water resources are under increasing pressure. Despite the massive funds that are being spent urging people to save water, a recent Watermark Survey of 1000 households shows the general public – both in cities and in regional areas- does not have a clear understanding of water issues or what they can do to help.
Through Watermark grassroots Australians can enter the discussion around the water issues, see the challenges that lie ahead and be part of the range of solutions.
The essence of the Watermark Australia process is that small groups of people form – maybe some neighbours, workmates or friends. They meet monthly to discuss water and are supported by materials from Watermark Australia – they share their thoughts, anecdotes and wisdom. Working together generates confidence and people adopt solutions for water on many levels- households, local communities, regions, states and nationally.
Watermark gives groups the practical support that makes the whole deal easy, fun, serious and a fantastic contribution to community knowledge and action on water. To get involved have a look at the website- where you can find out more, register to start a group and get your supporting materials. watermarkaustralia.org.au
