Tourism Victoria, Parks Victoria, and the Department of Sustainability and Environment are holding a series of workshops to give industry the chance to have a say on Victoria’s Nature-Based Tourism Strategy 2006-2010.
The workshops are open to anyone working in the nature-based tourism sector – ie any type of tourism that relies on attractions directly related to the natural environment.
The three agencies are working together on the strategy, which will look at ways to increase yield and ensure sustainability across all sectors of nature-based tourism: adventure tourism, ecotourism, Indigenous tourism (nature-based) and trails.
The strategy will also look at linking with other tourism sectors including food and wine, touring, and Indigenous and non-Indigenous culture and heritage.
Workshops will be held right round the state up till the end of August – see details at www.tourismvictoria.com.au/naturebasedtourism.
