Wanted – A volunteer community to have some fun!
There’s a new ‘how to’ manual out for running Beaut Blokes weekends…… that introduce/re-introduce single women from the cities to life in the country.
The original Beaut Blokes weekend at tiny Harrow (Vic) – brainchild of publican Ange Newton – was such a phenomenal success that apparently the region’s single male quota is now ‘verging on the endangered species list’.
Last year, a ‘burnt out’ Ange finally secured funding from Beyond Blue and Sara McDonnell, the new coordinator, is looking for a Beaut Blokes weekend to be held sometime late October/early November. There must be heaps of likely communities out there….think about it!
Fact: lots of young girls head for the city to complete their education or get qualifications and the blokes stay on the family farm or in trades/services that support the rural/farming sector.
What is a Beaut Blokes weekend?
It’s a program of events designed to give people a stress free oportunity to make new friends and give city girls a taste of country life in a fun way. Click here for a ‘sample’.
How does a community benefit?
And what about the participants?
Ange says they:
Why not have some fun?
