The Cancer Council South Australia is a community based, non-government organisation whose role is to reduce the impact of cancer in South Australia. It achieves this by providing information and services for people affected by cancer, and through working to prevent cancer. It also provides significant funds for research about cancer treatment and prevention in South Australia. The Cancer Council is a member of The Cancer Council Australia and collaborates with other state members and international cancer control agencies in all of its activities. The role of Communications Manager is primarily to develop and implement communication strategies, to effectively protect and enhance the corporate image, awareness and profile of The Cancer Council and its work.Your tertiary qualifications will be in journalism or communications, with minimum 5 years experience in a senior communications or PR role and credibility within statewide communications, PR and media networks. Your ability to form networks of influence to enhance advocacy opportunities will be highly regarded, as will your demonstrated abilities to develop, implement and evaluate major communications strategies in a complex environment. Human Resources Manager*
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a dynamic senior HR & IR Generalist. Reporting to the Director, Organisational Development and supporting the needs of 70 paid staff and many more volunteers and activists, this role is designed for a HR professional who loves to be challenged and rewarded. You will play an integral role in developing the strategic model of human resources, and supporting the creation of positive cultures. You will also be responsible for conducting operational human resource practices, overseeing a part-time HR Coordinator and supporting Senior and Line Managers in initiatives that affect organisational behaviour. Tertiary qualifications in human resource management with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a not for profit or unionised environment is considered essential as is highly developed written and verbal communication skills, a very professional approach and an ability to demonstrate past “change” success. This role offers an opportunity to work for an organisation that helps and saves the lives of individuals. This position may be based in either Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Brisbane.
