The client is a health promotion organisation based in the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) communities with a central focus on HIV/AIDS. They are currently looking for a Senior Education & Community Development Officer to based in their Wollongong office. Duties: designing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating existing & new health promotion, education and community development programs relating to HIV/AIDS prevention and sexual health; providing anti-homophobia and sexual health workshops to school and community organisations; supporting local GLBT groups; promoting safe sex at GLBT venues; co-ordinating local GLBT youth groups; supporting and referral to clients. Essential Criteria: demonstrated understanding and/or experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of health promotion and education programs; A strong understanding of adult education and/or community development with minimum requirement of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or the ability and willingness to gain this Certificate; excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and ability to work in partnership with other Branch projects; emonstrated understanding of HIV/AIDS, sexual health and health promotion and education issues with particular reference to gay men and HIV positive men; A current NSW driver’s licence. CLIENT LIAISON OFFICER (Wagga Wagga)
