GetUp describes itself as a politically motivated movement attempting to enlist like-minded people who want to bring participation back into democracy. You’ve no doubt heard of them…
If you’re not on their mailing list and haven’t worked out who to vote for yet – some of us haven’t – you may be interested in their 3 minute quiz, described as ‘impartial, straightforward and credible’ to get an idea about which party comes closest to your views?

They worked with independent pollster Irving Saulwick to frame 20 key questions on the major issues facing Australians this election.
Then, they got on the phone to every candidate in the country and invited them to take the quiz too – so that people can match up their views to those of the candidates’ in their own electorate.
Not all candidates have obliged.
See what you think!

I am afraid they are all rhetoric and no guts. As the Federal Independent Candidate for North Sydney I refused to do their survey as they sought to force you to say you were neutral on certain issues when you weren’t. If you wanted to give 15 firm viewpoints and pass on the other questions subject to being provided with more information they wouldn’t let you do that. I complained to Getup to change they way their survey operates so that I could register those answers on which I had a firm viewpoint and pass on the others but they would not respond. This is mind control at worst.
This does not sound good Marc – would you care to expand on “they sought to force you to say you were neutral on certain issues when you weren’t”?
