The Banksia Environmental Foundation has been operating for 20 years now. It is a national not-for-profit organisation that promotes environmental excellence and sustainability through its prestigious Awards program and other associated events. The Foundation also organises the Prime Minister’s Environmentalist of the Year Award. Its goals are:

  • Achieving a Sustainable Australia
  • Recognising and rewarding environmental excellence
  • Promoting best practice principles
  • Contributing to action-learning and education

For the first time in 2008, Australia’s leading young environmentalists aged 15 to 25 can apply for the Environment Minister’s Young Environmentalist of the Year Award, delivered as part of the Banksia Awards program.

This award seeks to acknowledge the “new” level thinkers who are solving environmental challenges, delivering environmental innovation and advancing environmental frontiers.. Banksia together with Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific provide this award and a prize of $30,000.

Why not visit Banksia’s website, find out the details and nominate someone you know doing a good job?
