Bikes, Pedestrians And Some Rage…

A reader has followed our link to the article on legislation to increase electric bike power and has been horrified at one early entry by Mike Clahsen.

Tanya wrote,
“His views on the car and the ‘rights’ of the motorist, over and above those of pedestrians and the community at large, are objectionable and should be challenged. Although I can do this by submitting my own entry, I think that an entry by PWF would carry more weight.”

PWF Response

A quick perusal of this response when it was made resulted in our webmaster reading only a few sentences. His assessment:

• Mike’s views were irrelevant and a little strange, but probably worth having in the post
• People get pretty good at filtering out rubbish in comments and this comment certainly approached that category
• He was probably looking for a reaction and an argument so it was good that no-one responded directly to his comments
• That no-one responded to his comments probably says enough about their legitimacy

PWF in no way condones the ideas expressed, BUT we do aim to be a broad-based idea/info exchange tool for grassroots people. Mike, as a grassroots community member, made his extreme comments and – thank heaven – 141 comments later no-one has picked up on his strange ideas.
