Introduction to Community Wide Study Circle Facilitation In Melbourne

The Australian Study Circles Network (ASCN), City of Hobsons Bay and Altona Meadows Library and Learning Centre is providing a one day workshop ‘Introduction to Community Wide Study Circle Program Facilitation’ run by Dr Mark Brophy and Mary Brennan – both ASCN Associates.

This one day course will provide participants with:

• An overview of study circles and community wide study circle programs
• Basics of study circle facilitation
• Demonstration of study circles in action
• Key facilitation skills and techniques
• Practice and de brief sessions

The Altona Meadows Library and Learning Centre will be conducting a round of pilot circles in March 2009 on the issue of ‘Employment, Education and Lifelong Learning’. The ASCN is also preparing for other community wide study circle program initiatives. They need to prepare facilitators.
