In spite of the world financial crisis co-operatives and social enterprises are surviving and even expanding, reports The CCC (Community Co-operative Connections) e-news team.

2. The co-operative business model got a £70m boost when the Co-operative Group UK launched its new brand featuring Bob Dylan’s Blowin’ in the Wind. A long time supporter of co-ops, Bob Dylan licensed the song for the advertising campaign with his first UK tour in years coinciding with the launch.
The 2:30 minute ad was broadcast on ITV (UK) and featured the www.co-operative.coop domain name.
5877 organisations currently use currently use .coop, including the global co-operative peak body, the International Co-operative Alliance – www.ica.coop.
3. The School for Social Entrepreneurs Australia (SSE) opened in Sydney in March 2009. SSE is dedicated to identifying, developing and supporting social entrepreneurs and raising awareness of social entrepreneurship.
