John Rimmer, EO of the Arts Industry Council of Victoria has requested all networks pass on info about the ‘whole of community sector’ (all not for profits) consultation about establishing a peak community-based body for the state.

The Community Leadership Alliance Project (CLAP) The understanding is that the peak body would be run by ‘community members’ and sit next to the recently established Office for Communities.

Representatives from community groups and or networks are strongly encouraged to become involved as this is an opportunity to have your say on the future direction of a peak body for ‘community’.

John says:

“On behalf of the Victorian Government’s Office for the Community Sector, Arts Industry Council Victoria is managing a community consultation process toward increasing capacity and leadership across the whole of the community sector – more information below. We have an upcoming consultation session in Pakenham (22 May) and I would be extremely grateful if you’re able to help spread word of the project throughout your contacts and networks.

We are hoping to attract a broad spectrum of community/non-profit organisations inc. sport & recreation, environmental groups, arts groups and those working in the social services and community care areas. If you’re able to assist in forwarding the information below to organisations within your region working in these fields I would be greatly indebted.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Many thanks in advance
