PWF doesn’t pass on all GetUp requests but THIS one…at a time when Copenhagen is ?????
If you haven’t seen the email, GetUp says:
“We’ve just been told there’s a bunch of impressive young Pacific Islanders who can’t afford to travel to Copenhagen to tell the world’s leaders that the decisions made there threaten the very existence of their home nations. They have asked us if we can help.
We have a shot at convincing the world to act in Copenhagen; but the poorest countries will struggle to be heard. Be part of the solution by donating what you can to get their voices heard.
World leaders, especially Australian politicians, are utterly failing us on climate change. They just don’t get it. So when they meet in only ten days time in Copenhagen, we have to make them understand how serious this is…
We can send these compelling young voices to the negotiations. We know from previous experience that personal stories from those impacted do make a difference in these meetings..
Whether you can give $5 or $500, your contribution will make a real difference. The number of delegates we can send will depend on how much we can raise, and more resources means we’ll be more effective on the ground when we’re there.”

These young people are on the front line, they should have a voice…
