This Sunday at Fed Square in Melbourne a symbolic walk – The Journey to Recognition – to support recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the Australian constitution will be launched.
At 9.30 am you can meet AFL ‘notable’ Michael Long and Jeremy Donovan of Generation One, walk the first steps of the relay and then join them for a brunch – provided by highly regarded Black Olive Catering – hosted by Reconciliation Victoria, at Fed Square. You are invited to join them at the very start of this historic event.
On the 15th anniversary of Sorry Day, an epic relay across the country will start. Supporters of recognition will walk, run, drive and cycle their way across the nation to every state and territory, stopping in towns and cities to recruit others to this grassroots movement.
The website, Recognise gives an outline of the proposed journey around Australia starting at Fed Square. At the moment the big speedometer reads 0000 but there are 138744 supporters.
