The Old Beechworth Gaol will be the venue – on Friday evening 20 September – for Albury Wodonga Food Share‘s inaugural gourmet fundraiser dinner. Every year this organisation helps feed 24,200 people including 5,000 kids by rescuing 763,000 kg food from 44 suppliers and distributing it to over 200 agencies who make the meals.
They need a new warehouse.
The gourmet dinner, costing $80 per person, will be provided by Taste Trekkers, Traviarti Wine and Billson’s Beverages.
You can book your tickets at foodshare.org.au/dinner
There is no shortage of food in this region but 25,000 Food Share meals are distributed by volunteers every week over a 150km radius…so people don’t go hungry!
Collaboration maximises the volume and nutritional quality of food for local people in need. Care is taken to ensure sufficient, affordable and culturally appropriate nutritious food is available to all.
People are helped make their own way out of poverty through education, training and employment programs.
If you can’t make the dinner, you could visit the website and help in other ways.
