Will play right around Oz in the 2007 International Comedy Festival
Sue Ellson’s Newcomers’ Network Newsletter has just arrived with info about Victoria’s ‘Celebrate our Cultural Diversity Week’ and IL DAGO which could be an amazing night out!
On stage Tuesday 20 March, at the Northcote Town Hall, Melbourne, this show will be one of the main entertainment acts of the week which will feature all sorts of activities right around the state 17 – 23 March.
IL DAGO stars ‘the best of the best of Australia’s ethnic stand-up comedians’:
These boys, three of whom pioneered ethnic comedy around the world with their unique brand of humour, will delight audiences all over Australia this year with their experiences about growing up as ‘wogs’ in Australia.
The cultural mix of IL DAGO personifies the message of Celebrate our Cultural Diversity Week says George Lekakis, Chairperson of the Victorian Multicultural Commission.
Since the early days of ‘Wogs out of Work’, ethnic comedy has made a big impact on Australia’s cultural landscape. It gives us an opportunity to reflect on the quirky side of the cultures and traditions that make us such a rich society today, while at the same time highlighting the similar qualities that can be found in every family of any cultural background.
Tickets to see IL DAGO during Celebrate our Cultural Diversity Week and the International Comedy Festival 4-29 April 2007 can be purchased through Ticketmaster on 1300 660 013, and other outlets around Melbourne. You can log onto myspace.com/ildagocomedy for complete ticket details and national tour dates.
Check out your diaries, March or April!
