Greening Australia is the Nation’s largest environmental non-government organisation, with 400 full-time staff nationally and over 100 in Queensland. The business is a progressive, multi-faceted organisation meeting the increasing community demands for the improvement of our country’s natural resources. Already running several commercially successful business units, the organisation has proven its apolitical stance and relevance to the community.
Topics of climate change, biodiversity and the economic viability of land management are the issues that are often filled with passion and media hype. Greening Australia’s work is underpinned by tangible action and results, community recognition and consultation in all of these areas. Proudly committed to community empowerment and participation, and through the formation of productive partnerships with all sectors of government, industry and community, the organisation’s mandate is to lead and extend the knowledge of best practice environmental outcomes.
With the environmental pressures and community awareness of climate change rising to an all time high, the board is expecting to see the business grow several fold. Experience in growing and evolving organisations and strong governance skills will be highly valued by a board that expects strong and meaningful contribution from each director. The board seeks an additional 2 directors to help drive and foster the commitment to this vitally important work across the State. Ideal areas of expertise being sought are, but are not limited to:
• Philanthropic networks
• Science – particularly natural resources and climate change
• Government Relations and Policy
