A Program For Teachers, Parents, Students
By changing the culture of violence to one of well-being, Solving the Jigsaw helps Primary and Secondary kids learn to manage the growing threats of bullying at school and violence at home and in the community.

Background
The program was developed by EASE (Emergency Accommodation Support Enterprise), a domestic violence support service based in Bendigo, country Victoria, in response to the statistic that 25 per cent of children and young people in Australia witness violence in their homes.
Launched in 1997 in two local schools, Jigsaw today operates throughout Victoria and includes more than 80 schools and 20,000 children. Importantly, 650 teachers have taken part in comprehensive training programs.
The patron of Solving the Jigsaw is the Hon Alastair Nicholson AO RFD QC, chair of the National Centre against Bullying and a former Chief Justice of the Family Court.
Nationally Accredited Professional Development Training Modules
The modules provide a practical whole school, or cluster, approach to wellbeing, violence and bullying, and offer an excellent training opportunity for implementation of the National Safe Schools Framework.
The six modules are:
- Whole-school approach to violence and bullying – Module One*
- Facilitating respect, valuing diversity, encouraging discussion and maintaining confidentiality
- Awkward conversations with kids
- Creating a caring and nurturing classroom and school
- Conflict within the school community
- Exploring feelings and emotions in the classroom
* Module One is a prerequisite for the other 5 training modules.
