Mary Rummery lives in the Macedon Ranges in Victoria. She is currently a full time parent with two girls Emma (six) and Beth (three). Prior to leaving the paid workforce, Mary worked in Secondary Education as an Outdoor Education Teacher. She is also a qualified Social Worker.
Mary is currently working on a project which aims to gather the life stories of women from across Australia to celebrate the diversity of women’s experiences. In particular she is focusing on stories from women who are not well known but who are ‘unsung heroes’ in the families and communities from which they come. Mary aims to have these stories published in a book.
At this stage, Mary is asking women who may be interested to contact her by email, telephone or mail. Women can submit an outline of their story in writing or via audio tape. There is no restriction on the number of words or the particular theme of their story.
Anyone interested in sharing their story/stories must contact Mary or submit an outline by July 30th 2005.
All stories submitted will be subject to an editorial process. Stories may be altered; shortened or lengthened, identifying information changed and basic editing/proof reading done. Mary assumes the right to include or not include individual stories.
Mary aims to work closely with individuals submitting their stories. There will be no financial reward to individuals submitting stories.
