Question: How do citizens make a difference to tackling health inequalities in communities and how can we learn from those experiences? The Victorian Health Inequalities Network (VHIN) is running a Citizens’ Roundtable on this topic in Carlton, on December 5, 9.30am – 3pm.
Expected Outcomes
- Document citizen understandings of those conditions in communities that determine good health and create poor health
- BUILD understanding of what has been successful in tackling community issues and how this knowledge can be used elsewhere
- Increase understanding of how citizens have become engaged in local policy-making and the development of programs
- Figure out the enablers of citizen action and how they can influence decision-making
