Calling all those who might be in Ayr, North Queensland, on the first weekend in June…you’re invited to a Bush Poets’ Breakfast, held by the local Zonta International Club as a fund raiser.
Following previous successful Bush Poets’ brekkies, Karen Clarke, from Ayr’s Zonta Club tells us this inaugural event for Ayr will present the talented poet Melanie Hall as a special guest.
Melanie will run a workshop on Saturday and The Burdekin Singers will be there around 2pm.
Then on Sunday, over a hot buffet breakfast in the Burdekin Theatre forecourt, people will be entertained by 4-5 poets, including some local talent, as they recite their bush poetry…a good time and a few laughs for all.
Melanie is continuing in a long line of Western Queensland story tellers.
She is inspired by our ‘unique lingo’ and by the characters and the life out west.
