Awards For Young People Working To Tackle Poverty

The annual Australian Community Sector Survey of over 500 agencies shows that frontline agencies are under enormous strain and unable to meet the growing demand for help.

What’s The Greatest Need?

Housing availability and affordability is the greatest unmet need for clients of welfare services, followed by community-based care and treatment for mental illness and emergency relief.

Anti-Poverty Awards Encourage & Support Young People Who Help…

The Anti-Poverty Awards recognise the many young people in Australia, between 16 and 30, who work towards addressing inequality and injustices both in Australia and abroad.

The Individual Award

To encourage and support young people making making an on-going difference in addressing disadvantage:

• One Award recipient will receive a grant up to the value of $4000
• Encouragement Awards up to the value of $1000 may also be offered

The School Award

The School Award, supported by Jinta Sport, recognises schools in Australia who are engaging their students in creative and innovative school-based projects that work towards the removal of inequality.

The Award recognises that the many projects undertaken by schools contribute significantly to the wider community’s understanding of disadvantage.

One school will receive a Jinta Sport Pack to the value of $2500. The pack will include a range of Jinta Sport fairtrade balls, tshirts and merchandise.
