Inside Policy is
“a national collaboration of policy wonks, political operatives and technical geeks who love making the world a better place by solving complex policy challenges in the social and economic development space. Since starting in 2013, Inside Policy has advised Department of Prime Minister & Cabinet, Indigenous Business Australia, Reconciliation Australia, Supply Nation and City of Sydney.”
Inside Policy is a social enterprise that brings together inventive minds from a range of disciplines to help people solve complex social, cultural and economic policy problems. It works with clients/people ‘with ideas’ to clearly define and understand the problem they are trying to solve. It provides insight and new directions to develop a practical game plan that will achieve positive change.
In partnership with the ideas people, Inside Policy uses an engagement approach that combines digital and traditional methods to reach the community, build their trust, enable them to participate and gather their insights.
Over six weeks the experiences and insights of a representative community sample is collated. Then, still in partnership with the client, a review framework is designed and implemented. This ‘co-designed approach’ is unlike any other in Australia.
The social enterprise sector in Australia is growing. Check out the impressive case studies listed on the Supply Nation website.
It is predicted that
“In Australia, the gap between the demand for services and what government can provide is estimated to reach US$54 billion or 3% of GDP by 2025,” (Accenture & Oxford Economics, 2012)
and thinking people are wondering how social, health and community services will be funded and how will we ensure that all Australians can share in our prosperity?
Impact investment may be a solution.
A leading global expert in impact investment, Ambassador John Simon (Retired), is founder and Managing Partner at Total Impact Capital.
Inside Policy, in partnership with QANTAS and Indigenous Business Australia, are hosting a John Simon speaking tour designed to amplify impact investment efforts in Australia from 23-27 March 2015 in Sydney and Canberra.
