In 2008 Connecting Up Australia (CUA) commissioned Digital Business Insights to conduct and analyse a survey to benchmark the technology capacity of Australia’s nonprofits.
Over 930 organisations of all types and sizes responded from all round Australia and the results are now available as a free download.
Are We There Yet? (AWTY) is a capacity benchmarking tool for the nonprofit sector. It will initially allow you to benchmark your technology capacity against almost 1,000 nonprofits who completed our detailed survey in October 2008. Then, as more and more nonprofit organisations use the AWTY benchmark tool online, the richer the benchmark data becomes.
Soon a section will be added that allows you to benchmark your efforts to be ‘green’ and environmentally responsible, and other areas of nonprofit capacity benchmarks will follow over time. The real advantage of ‘Are We There Yet?’ is that it also helps you answer the question of ‘What Now?’ Complete the survey and then CUA will direct you to as many resources as they can that will help you get to the next stage.
1. Digital Business Insights provides details of the survey results and a series of case studies of technology implementations in small to medium organisations.
2. A report from CUA itself includes a comparison with the previous survey conducted in 2006 and some recommendations for the nonprofit sector, Governments and businesses.
CUA CEO Doug Jacquier invites you to download the documents, put your feet up and have a read, and then let him know what you think.
