November 30, 2005In WA Sandy Williams realised her kids had no idea how expensive it is ‘to live’. To educate them she set up a colour coded chart showing how much water, telephone, gas, electricity etc had cost the family for the same period over the last two years.
Every dollar saved on new bills goes into a holiday account. Sandy says the changes in the kids have been amazing! They turn off lights, have shorter showers, turn off the TV if they are not watching it and they love the bills coming in, marking them on the chart – and adding to the savings column!
The Williams have been doing this for six months and the kids have decided they would like to stay in a hotel on the beach for two nights.
