Tourism WA is looking for quality employers interested in joining the Aboriginal Employment Initiative – traineeships and cadetships are available where participants gain experience with some of tourism’s top organisations while getting paid.
There are nine highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals keen to launch long-term careers in tourism and hospitality. The candidates are currently undertaking a comprehensive four-week pre-employment course and are interested in a range of areas, including hospitality, visitor servicing, tour-guiding and flight attending.
If your organisation would like to get involved, or for more information call Tania Donovan on 08 9262 1830
The Indigenous Tourism Traineeships are open to any Indigenous Australian with a keen interest in the tourism industry. Trainees will receive pre-employment training and the support of a dedicated mentor.
The Indigenous Tourism Cadetships are open to Australian Aboriginals or Torres Strait Islanders who are studying full-time for a diploma, advanced diploma or first undergraduate degree qualification.
These programs give all the support needed to advance a career. And because tourism is such a huge industry sector, there’s a wide array of career paths to explore, from business development and marketing, to life sciences, education and much more.
