Employee Buyouts guidebook revised & freely available

Alan Greig from the not-for-profit Mercury Centre (PWF Bulletin 46 – Buyouts can preserve key community assets and facilities) has emailed us saying their revised guidebook can now be dowloaded from the Mercury website: http://www.mercury.org.au/own_strategies_r&p.html .

The following Fact Sheets on Ownership Strategies are available in pdf format for dowload:

  • FSO1 – Business Succession (PDF)
  • FSO2 – Business Transition in Regional Australia (PDF)
  • FSO3 – Typical Buyout Solutions (PDF)
  • FSO4 – Employee Ownership (PDF)
  • FSO5 – Employee Participation in Ownership

Employee ownership of a business can be achieved through a process called an “employee buy-out”. This Employee Buyouts Guide sets out what an employee buy-out is, when a buy-out is appropriate and why a buy-out should be considered. It also deals with the forms of buy-outs and the steps in performing a buy-out.

PWF would love to hear from any group considering a buyout or already involved in a buyout. Are you??
