Social responsibility: Cooperatives reinvesting & engaging in community
This Sydney seminar is hosted by the Centre for Australian Community Organisations (CACOM) and presented by Garry Cronan.
Community and cooperative go hand in glove. You see many examples, particularly in country areas, where successful cooperatives are giving back to their communities and reinvesting – through partnerships – to build the next generation of cooperatives.
Garry Cronan, Director of Communications and Intelligence Services at the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) in Geneva will discuss how cooperatives worldwide are investing in communities.
Having played a pivotal role in raising the profile of cooperatives through streamlining and expanding communications across the cooperative sector worldwide, both here in Australia, and since his appointment at the ICA in 2003, Garry Cronan was the former General Manager and Senior Research Fellow with the Australian Centre for Cooperative Research and Development in Sydney (1998-2003).
Previous experience includes responsibility for managing the NSW Government’s cooperative development and legislative programs 1990-96. He also acted as personal advisor to the minister responsible for cooperatives in NSW.
