With flat domestic tourism business is turning to international market
E-learning modules teaching business how to get a bigger share of the international tourist market have been developed by ATEC (Australian Tourism Export Council).
ATEC Managing Director Matthew Hingerty says tackling the inbound sector can be a lifeline for some businesses – especially as domestic tourism is predicted to remain flat.
He says the very basic set of training modules is designed for people considering getting involved with the international market so they understand the basics of operating in the inbound industry.
The module begins:
Are you export ready?
Do you really know what an inbound tour operator is? Are you sure you understand the international distribution system? Have you got a good grasp on the cultural aspects of the key markets you’re working in or want to work in?
