‘Ngoloo – voice’ and ‘Wurru – talk’ in the Boonerwrung language describe the importance of communication and learning both ways.
The ANTaR website reports that Arts Victoria in partnership with Koori Business Network, the City of Port Phillip, Boonerwrung traditional owners and Gasworks Arts Park will present Ngoloo Wurru – Deadly Arts Business Gathering, 1-2 March, for Victorian Indigenous artists, art workers and communities interested in the arts. Tickets are free.
Artists and arts workers will develop skills, share knowledge and experiences and discuss the future of their professional practice. Keynote speakers will be Professor Judy Atkinson and Noel Tovey.
There will be practical workshops and demonstrations of hip-hop, ceramics, photography, metal casting and children’s literature.
The Gathering will focus on practical industry and business skills development taking in local community issues, arts and wellbeing.
