The Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources is calling the second round of the Tourism and Conservation Partnerships funding. This is seed funding to encourage the development of business planning and feasibility studies that increase nature-based tourism and also increase the tourism industry’s contribution to conservation.
The program aims to develop a diversity of tourism business models that expand the tourism potential of Australia’s biodiversity and contribute to its preservation.
Guidelines: The guidelines for the second round of the Tourism and Conservation Partnerships are now available. Go to http://www.industry.gov.au then type in /TourismAndConservation. Also available is a list of frequently asked questions, contact details and summaries of the six studies funded this year.
The second round is expected to fund 10-20 feasibility studies and several pilot ventures that have already completed feasibility studies. Closing date is Wednesday 6 April 2005.
