have helped protect and restore precious areas such as Kakadu, Daintree, Shelburne Bay and the forests of south eastern Australia. More recently, campaigns have been undertaken for new laws to control land clearing and to protect wild rivers within Qld.
This State Campaign Manager position will lead and coordinate the activities of The Wilderness Society Queensland, playing the central role in campaigns and strategies to protect Queensland’s Wild Places and with particular focus on the leadership of the Far North Qld Wild Country Campaign.
You will have a track record in successfully directing and undertaking a range of campaign, staff management and organisational development functions as well as demonstrated commitment to the protection of the natural environment. Other requirements include a solid understanding of the Queensland and national political environment and electoral politics and well developed networking, advocacy and negotiation skills.

NISER, Noosa’s newly created leading independent think tank dealing with economic, international and social policy, is seeking a person with experience in fundraising and in grant writing. Applicants must have polished writing skills and great interpersonal skills.
The person will be responsible for researching and analysing funding sources for NISER, our businesses, and sporting groups’ projects and programs; developing individual grant proposals in accordance with the organization’s mission; and keeping in contact with grant-making foundations. The person will also be responsible for maintaining and supporting the relationship between NISER and its members.
The person will ideally have knowledge of the grant application process and various grant programs, the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines for grant opportunities. The Candidate must be computer literate with excellent research and writing skills. Experience in a non-profit agency environment is preferred.
NISER also incubates various sporting organisations and sporting based commercial enterprises. The person will be expected to raise memberships for NISER, fund raise and seek sponsorship for those sporting organisations, and assist penetration into sporting clubs, organisers and sporting bodies. NISER runs quasi governmental economic seminars and has the ability to increase attendance through search engine optimisation, media relations, publicity promotions advertising and direct sales are an advantage. Salary is negotiable, and will reflect and be commensurate with the person’s level of experience and qualifications.
