Maureen is an active ‘young’ Melburnian in her sixties – BUT she’s broken her leg and is now getting around on crutches and can’t drive her car or do any of the other things she normally does. Her Sydney-based son found PWF on the net and thought we might be able to reach someone interested in approximately 3 months free board in return for some light home duties and driving Maureen to doctor/physio appointments at Outpatients at the Austin Hospital.
Maureen sounds like an ‘up and at it’ person and would be an interesting companion:
After speaking with Maureen it just so happened I was contactedby Annette Loudon from Sydney LETS (Local Exchange Trading Scheme). I had no idea how broad LETS’ interests and community involvement is, so, checking up, I rang a Melbourne branch this morning to see if they might be able to help Maureen. The answer was ‘yes’ they do do this sort of thing and they would put out the request. 6 months ago this request could have been filled immediately, but today a search will be necessary.
If you think you can help or would like some more info, you can ring Maureen Bailey 03 9471 2850 or 0409 900 574.
