Windows of the World is an amazing sounding event that will run in Melbourne’s Fed Square 12,13 and 19 September. It will
“provide a window through which we can see other cultures and they can see us. Understanding and appreciating one another’s cultures seems paramount to living peacefully in this world and for the survival of life on this planet”.
Starting at 11.30 Indigenous children will play traditional games and the day will be filled with cultural activities both on the ground and on the Big Screen.
There will be guest speakers and presentations and the audience will be invited to be part of the visions and projects from the various cultures and groups, as a lead to the Changing the Dream Symposium.
This very first initiative – a Bumblebee Factory project that provides equipment and program support to animal sanctuaries around the world – is being championed by two Melbourne school groups: Eltham Primary School and Vermont Secondary College.
The project promotes sustainable outcomes while nurturing human potential, our wildlife and the environment. The idea is to connect schools with sanctuaries around the world, see what they need and help supply this through fundraising.

This final day is about creating new ways to live and inhabit our home. It will focus on the gathering of families and communities bringing messages from children for living in harmony. The Big Screen will show material from the Changing the Dream Symposium and there will be a colourful Bollywood presentation to celebrate the inaugural event and the sending of shipping containers to India in support of Indian community and wildlife.
