South Australia’s thirteenth Living Artists Festival (SALA), the largest visual arts festival in Australia, is coming up and online registrations close soon, on 24 May 2010.
SALA enables South Australian artists of any age, ability and medium, to connect with their local communities.
Venues reach from Adelaide City to the Barossa Valley the Yorke Peninsula, the Murraylands, Eyre Peninsula, the Limestone Coast and beyond. An innovative, and accessible festival, SALA is recognized as producing a significant contribution to the SA’s reputation as a culturally rich place to live and visit.
In 2009 there was the spectacle and celebration of 2,773 artists exhibiting across 500 venues throughout South Australia. The many venues mean all South Australians – and visitors – can enjoy art created in their own neighbourhood.
To ensure SALA provides an accessible and engaging pathway for audiences, three SA visual arts specialists will moderate each registration against a self nominated category to ensure the Official Program reflects the diversity of various mediums and categories.
SALA Festival General Manager, Penny McAuley says,
“This is an astounding opportunity for you to show your work, to the widest possible audience. SALA is a brilliant blend of local produce, local talent and loving art.”
