We’ve just heard from Leigh and Lea about their grey nomad experience. They say
“Last month we met a fellow at Hughenden,QLD who was a plumber. His wife was a teacher.
He explained when he went on holidays he often went to outback areas where there had been a request from a family where they wanted a short term person to teach their children for a short time so they could help their husband/wife do a specific job on the farm.
He said his fuel costs were paid for the return journey from his home.
I thought he said the organisation he was with was ‘Wise’ but upon checking that name on the net I think possibly not.
My wife is an Art Teacher, she 57, me 63.
The above idea appealed. We spend 6 weeks from Melbourne to Cape York return – 10500 kms. Possibly 5000 kms was on dirt.”
Great to hear this – PWF would love to post similar experiences as a ‘can do/could do (?)’ inspiration!

Could ‘Wise’ be the Wise Foundation for Worldwide International Student exchange http://wise.wisefoundation.com/?
I think that the organisation you are looking for is VISE (Volunteers for Isolated Students’ Education).
