Donortec is a new service that operates for a small administrative fee. The Donortec program is delivered in Australia by CommunIT, the South Australian CISA (Communities Information Services Australia) project in partnership with the US TechSoup project. Both CISA and Compumentor/TechSoup are nonprofit organisations.
Many organisations are already registering and placing orders…check it out!
The service aims to assist charities and nonprofit organisations with Income Tax Exempt status by providing software and hardware for very low or discounted fees in conjunction with donor partners. They also support these organisations in making the most of their ICT purchases and infrastructure.
Under the Donortec program, receiving access to these donated products will involve a three stage online process:
In all cases you will need to be approved as an Income Tax Exempt organisation by the Australian Taxation Office and have an Australian Business Number (ABN). Once Donortec has received your details and assessed your eligibility, they will notify you as to whether you are eligible to proceed to the next stage. This should be a once-only registration process and will only need to be re-visited if your organisation’s details change.
Once you receive approval to proceed to the ordering stage, you will be able to select the products you would like to order and to pay a small administrative fee, via Paypal, to have your orders fulfilled. This fee is to cover Donortec’s administrative costs in delivering the program. You are asked to please plan carefully before making orders because in most cases you are restricted to one order per supplier per year.
Once your administration payment is cleared by Paypal, Donortec will lodge your order with the relevant companies.
