Kerryn Burgoyne has written to us about her story, her website, www.ktalk.co and her work as an educator. She is passionate about educating the wider public about living with the Asperger’s/Autism disorder.
Kerryn speaks not from an academic perspective but from personal experience. Parents and teachers give her courses the ‘thumbs up’. She has great credibility.
Kerryn was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome at 30. She is now 42 and since 2007 has spoken, taught and helped people with Asperger’s Syndrome, their parents/carers/teachers and families.
Kerryn runs her own organisation, KTalk, and she will travel anywhere that Autism/Asperger’s Education is needed.
She has also run the Aspektism/Workism Course for parents/carers to give an insight from the ‘outside in’ on what it is like live with Asperger’s Syndrome.
There are flyers on the website based on the self-help life courses Kerryn has developed for people.
In March 2009 in Townsville Kerryn ran her own 2 day seminar on Asperger’s and Employment issues.
Do you know of any students that might be interested in enrolling in one of Kerryn’s courses for self-help regarding Asperger’s or Autism?
OR
Can Kerryn be of any assistance in running an info session on Asperger’s Syndrome/Autism Spectrum Disorders? She has a powerpoint presentation for such a session and is also open to question times if this suits the centre.
The goal is self-help, a course designed to help you find your way in life and place you on the right path, to help you discover inner potential, make your life positive and strive for success.
Comfort Zones – learn what a comfort zone is and how you step out of it into the unknown.
Reconciliation – learn how to repair friendships/relationships with other people and to say sorry to those affected by your behaviour or hatred towards them.
Down the hole – dive down deep into your soul to find an outstanding issue that has to be dealt with; the longer you leave it, the more it will hit you later on.
Our issues – look at an issue we have covered in the course and learn how it has affected both ourselves, family members/friends and even society.
Deal with it – learn how to deal with your issue effectively, going on a journey down a deep, dark tunnel to find the right path for things to become ‘Klear’.
Klear – come out of the tunnel into a new pool, klear of all the issues you have now dealt with. You are now ready to move ahead with the next step of your life.
