The cotton industry’s women’s network (Wincott) sounds as though it’s firing on all cylinders! On the discussion list at their recent AGM in Narrabri, NSW there was:
1)an ‘easy to understand’ talk on broadband;
2)the launch of www.wincott.net.au & congratulations to website designers Ruth Quigley & Kate Schwager;
3)the cotton industry’s ‘going forward’ attitude to GM technology;
4)’quality cotton & marketing issues’ – in lay man’s terms;
5)sun exposure, skin cancer prevention & medical treatment now available.
After the report on the year’s activities a discussion led to membership fees being dropped to build up the database for new sponsors – Monsanto, Bayer Crop Science and Telstra Country Wide – and since the AGM, 100 women have enrolled and the ANZ Bank has become a gold sponsor!
